Throw out a line by the mangrove islands and grass flats in the bay. Depending on the time of year, you may see Redfish, Snook, Sheephead, Spotted Sea Trout, Silver Sea Trout, several types of Snapper, Black Sea Bass, Flounder, small Grouper, Ladyfish, Spanish mackerel, some small types of Shark.

Accessible only by boat, Egmont Key is a beautiful treasure. Snorkel the Spanish Forts, walk through the historic ruins of Fort Dade or shell the pristine beaches. Bring your camera to capture the lighthouse that has stood on the island since 1858. The south end of the island is a shorebird refuge, and visitors may enjoy sightings of box turtles, gopher tortoises, dolphin and manatee.
